Mark-10 Tensile Testers & Force Testers

 

Mark-10 force testers can be configured to perform a virtually unlimited amount of tests. There are 3 main components to consider when purchasing a tensile tester:

1. Test Stand 

Choose a Test Stand based on the force capacity you are looking for. Either 300, 750 or 1500 lbs. 

The stroke of the machine is also important to consider. For instance, the standard stroke or travel distance on the ESM 303 is 18" and on the ESM 1500 it is 32".

2. Force Gauge

The Force Gauge measures the tensile or compression force in pounds. Force Gauges are a combination of a load cell, electronics, buttons, and a digital read-out screen.  They can be easier to use and quicker than a Universal Testing Machine with a load cell since the maximum force can be read directly on the screen. Force Gauges can be set up with simple programs and can also be connected to a PC via USB cable for increased functionality.

3. Grips & Fixtures 

Universal Grip offers a full line of tensile grips and compression fixtures to outfit a Mark-10 Force Tester. By using different grips, a multitude of different tests can be performed including bend, crush, peel, puncture, shear, and tear testing. A standard adapter kit is used to easily mount and unlock our complete line of testing fixtures.

Purchasing & Support

Universal Grip sells and supports Mark-10's full line of tensile testers and force testing machines World-wide. Each machine ships with a standard 3 year warranty. These systems are more basic than universal testing machines, however they are great for quality and manufacturing environments where the scope of testing is limited.

​

Mark-10 tensile testing machines are easy to use. There are many software additions which can be included to help with repeated testing. Options such as Return to Home, full PC Control, and Break Detection are all available and also customizable. With a Mark-10 machine, you can customize the system according to your exact needs without worrying about paying for extra features that you will never use.

Load readings are measured on these machines by either a Force Gauge or a Load Cell. For the Mark-10 tensile testers, we would recommend them with the Mark-10 Force Gauges. The gauges are accurate enough to meet and exceed most tensile testing standards such as ASTM D412 for elastomers and ASTM D638 for plastics.  For more information on the force gauges, please look here.
