Universal Grip visits Galdabini Headquarters in Italy

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

     

 

       

               The Universal Grip team embarks on an annual trip to Galdabini Innovative Precision Systems at their HQ near Milan, Italy for training and product release updates. The team receives commercial and technical training regarding the full line of Galdabini products including their Universal Testing Machines and accompanying software – Graphwork 6. Universal Grip is fully trained and licensed to perform machine installations and training here in the United States.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

            

 

               Galdabini (est. 1890) consists of 3 business units: Material Testing Systems, Automatic Straightening Systems, and Hydraulic Stamping Presses. Each line is slightly different; however each builds upon the legacy and history of the Galdabini manufacturing operation. The plant is complete with CNC machines, a paint shop, overhead cranes, and even a 3D printer. While there, the Galdabini engineering team was busy working on a 4,000 ton straightening machine – the largest ever built.

 

               Along with world-class manufacturing expertise, Galdabini also houses a fully accredited calibration center. Inside the calibration center resides a 100 year old dead-weight force calibration system which is capable of capacities up to 50 tons (100K lbf). This system is used to calibrate every load cell that comes through Galdabini. Only 5 to 10 dead-weight systems of this size are estimated to exist in the entire world. For this reason, Galdabini is one of the few companies capable of manufacturing and calibrating floor-standing tensile testers that are capable of testing over 1000 kN.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

               The plant is also ISO:9001 certified, which means that every machine that leaves the facility is held to the utmost quality standards. Galdabini universal testing machines are used in almost every part of the world for quality and R&D testing. Up until recently, the high exchange rate of the Euro has been a headwind as well as the relatively low US based marketing exposure. Universal Grip will change this by implementing its successful digital marketing strategy which will focus on educating the scientific community with valuable pictures, video, and content.

 

               Over the next few years Universal Grip will roll out an aggressive strategy to reach new customers who are looking for advanced material testing systems. These machines can be configured to test adhesives, foam, metal, plastic, wood and many other materials. Along with universal testing machines, Universal Grip will also supply Charpy impact testing machines capable of testing to ASTM E23 and ISO 179. The team is very excited to enter this next phase of its expansion as it enters the $500 million dollar market for mechanical force testing machines.
