Small Universal Pneumatic Grip Dual Coupling

Single-piston 1.2 kN pneumatic grip with a coupling block that takes either a Ø 15.9 mm or a Ø 20 mm clevis pin.

Brand: Universal Grip  |  Model: UGC-PG-130  |  ● Configured to order

  • 1.2 kN (about 270 lbf) clamping force at 7 bar

  • Coupling block accepts Ø 15.9 mm (5/8 in) or Ø 20 mm clevis pins

  • Screw-adjustable counter jaw for setting the specimen line

  • Jaw opening up to 10 mm, depending on jaws

  • Takes 30 x 30 mm solid and quick-change insert jaws (25 x 25 mm options)

  • Anodized aluminum offset body keeps mass on the load cell low

Standards: ASTM D882  ·  ASTM D828

Trusted by Global Companies

A small pneumatic grip that fits two common pin sizes

The UGC-PG-130 is a compact, air-actuated grip for low-force tensile tests on plastic films and foils, textiles and nonwovens, paper and packaging, and thin metal foil. What sets it apart is the coupling: the offset aluminum body carries a coupling block that accepts either a Ø 15.9 mm (5/8 in) or a Ø 20 mm clevis pin, so one grip set can move between testing machines that use different pin sizes. Other connections are handled through adapters.

How it works

A single pneumatic piston drives the moving jaw against a screw-adjustable counter jaw, giving 1.2 kN of clamping force at 7 bar (about 270 lbf at roughly 102 psi). The screw sets the specimen line; the piston then applies the same clamping action to every specimen. Jaw opening is up to 10 mm depending on the jaws fitted, and the rated temperature range is 0 to +70 °C.

Jaws

  • Solid jaws, 30 x 30 mm with 25 x 25 mm options, in smooth, rubber, pyramid, fine pyramid, V, wave and diamond faces

  • Insert jaws with quick-change 30 x 30 mm faces that mount on a carrier set

Where it sits in the range

The UGC-PG-120 shares the 1.2 kN rating and is offered with one or two rods and in vise-action versions. The UGC-PG-130 is the single-piston version with the dual-pin coupling block. Weight and air connection for this version are confirmed at quote.

The grip suits low-force machines such as Mark-10 F-series motorized tensile testers and the Galdabini 2.5 kN benchtop UTM. Optional foot pedals or hand switches are on the pneumatic grip accessories page. Tell us your machine's pin size, your specimen and your air supply, and we will quote a configured set.

Small Universal Pneumatic Grip Dual Coupling FAQ

What does "dual coupling" mean on the UGC-PG-130?

The coupling block accepts either a Ø 15.9 mm (5/8 in) or a Ø 20 mm clevis pin, so the grip can mount on machines using either size. Other couplings are handled with adapters.

How much clamping force does it provide?

1.2 kN at 7 bar from a single pneumatic piston.

How wide does the jaw open?

Up to 10 mm, depending on the jaws fitted.

What does it weigh?

Weight for this version is given on request. Tell us the jaws you plan to use and we will confirm it with your quote.

How is it different from the UGC-PG-120?

Both clamp at 1.2 kN at 7 bar. The PG-120 comes with one or two rods and in vise-action versions; the PG-130 is a single-piston grip with an offset body and a coupling block for both common pin sizes.
